Must-See Movies For The Holiday Season

Whether it’s the holidays or you’re just looking to do something with all that time away from school, tons of movies are hitting the theatres that you might be interested in seeing. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas isn’t all that far behind, what better way to spend that time than with loved ones and catching one of the new releases hitting theatres near you. For anyone who may be interested in catching a new flick this coming holiday, here are some of the movies you might want to check out.

If you’re as big fan of Sherlock Holmes as we are, you’ll be glad to know that a new movie is on its way and you’ll not want to miss it! Filled with many of the same actors as before, Sherlock Holmes will be bringing another addition to the series for a can’t miss movie. Fifty Shades of Black will also be making its debut. While this isn’t necessarily something you might want to see with a family member, for all those fans who have read and loved the books as well as the current movies released, you’ll not want to miss the second installment of this series.

Many gamers out there will be waiting with baited breath as the long waited for movie Assassin’s Creed will be making its arrival on the big screen coming this December. For fans who’ve played the video game series, this movie is one that promises to not disappoint as you follow our main character through a story that is both familiar and new to gamers all over. While it may not scream of holiday cheer, it’s something you can go to see with friends or family.

Speaking of holiday cheer, or maybe not quite so much, Mr. Billy Bob Thornton will be returning to the big screen this coming holiday with his sequel to Bad Santa, with Bad Santa 2. Once again you’ll find his character playing the role of a greedy, alcoholic looking to get in on the next scheme to make money fast. His side kick that he parted ways with in the first Bad Santa will also be returning for hijinks and more cons this holiday season. This movie will be a great watch to put even the biggest holiday Grinch with some laughter and smiles.

Looking for something for the kids? Look no further as movies such as Nocturnal Animals, A Street Cat Named Bob, and more also make an appearance. Many of the movies will be seeing making their way to theatres with promises of providing entertainment for different age ranges. While some of the movies will come baring the Christmas spirit and holiday themes, much of them are good to watch no matter what time of year it is. Movies such as Evolution will inspire viewers with a mystery surrounding a young boy, a dead body, a starfish and family secrets. Other movies such as The Take will take you on a different kind of adventure this holiday season with a thief from Paris that gets more than he bargains for when he steals a bag with contents that will leave him hunted by the CIA to get back what he has taken from them. If you think you’ll be wanting to watch a new movie this holiday season then we suggest you look into one of these great movies while spending time with your loved ones and friends as you take a break from class, exams and work.
